Setting up desktop email clients (IMAP/SMTP/POP)

  • IMAP (incoming) — port 993 with SSL/TLS
  • SMTP (outgoing) — port 587 with STARTTLS (or 465 for SMTPS)
  • POP3 supported, but IMAP recommended for sync

Generic settings​

  • Incoming server: clearbox.alfrolia.com (IMAP)
  • Outgoing server: clearbox.alfrolia.com (SMTP)
  • Username: full email address
  • Authentication: password or app password (OAuth is not supported). Clearbox provides built-in TLS/SSL for secure connections.

Outlook setup (Windows)​

  1. File → Add Account → Manual setup.
  2. Choose IMAP and enter server details.
  3. Test connection and finish.

Troubleshooting​

  • Authentication errors: reset password or use an app password if 2FA is enabled
  • SSL errors: ensure certificate is valid and server name matches
