Mobile setup (iOS and Android)
Overview
While the Clearbox Web App provides a robust experience in any browser, many users prefer to manage their business communications through dedicated mobile apps. Clearbox is designed to work seamlessly with the world’s most popular email clients, ensuring you stay connected to your business wherever you are.
1. Professional Connection Settings
If you are manually adding your Clearbox account to an app, you will need the technical addresses below. Think of these as the "digital coordinates" that help your phone find our secure mail servers.
Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)
This server handles the mail you receive.

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
This server handles the mail you send.

Your Credentials
- Username: Your full professional email address (e.g.,
name@yourdomain.com). - Password: Your standard Clearbox account password.
Important Note: Clearbox utilizes a unified authentication system. You should always use your primary account password to log in. Please note that "App Passwords" and "OAuth" are currently not supported.

- Built-in Mail (Apple Mail / Samsung Mail): Use the "Manual Setup" or "Other Account" option in your phone's settings and enter the Connection Settings listed in Section 1.
3. Troubleshooting Connection Issues
If your mobile app is unable to sync with your Clearbox suite, please verify the following:
- Credential Accuracy: Double-check that your username is your full email address and that your password is typed correctly (passwords are case-sensitive).
- Security Settings: Ensure that the "Security Type" is set to SSL/TLS or STARTTLS. Your connection will fail if the app attempts to connect without these secure layers enabled.
- Background Data: On your phone settings, ensure that your mail app has permission to use "Background Data" or "Background App Refresh." If your phone is in "Battery Saver" mode, it may temporarily stop checking for new mail.
- Certificate Warnings: If you see an error regarding a "Security Certificate," ensure that the server address you entered is exactly
clearbox.alfrolia.com.
