Getting started with Clearbox

Clearbox is a premium communication platform designed specifically for businesses that require professional email without the technical complexity. This guide is curated for business owners and team members who may not have a background in Information Technology.

If at any point you encounter a term or step that feels unfamiliar, our dedicated support team is available to handle the configuration for you.


Phase 1: Initial Configuration

Establishing your professional presence follows a logical four-step process.

1. Suite Creation

Begin by selecting a clearbox suite that fits your business needs on the Alfrolia Cloud Dashboard. The process is streamlined to ensure you can begin your setup within minutes.

2. Selecting Your Domain Strategy

Your "domain" is your business address on the internet (e.g., yourbusiness.com). You have three primary options for connecting this to Clearbox:

  • Option A: Integrated Registration (Highly Recommended) You can register a brand-new domain directly through the Clearbox dashboard. By choosing this path, your domain is automatically configured and registered using DotSync, our automated domain management system. This ensures all background settings are handled instantly by our software without any manual input from you.
  • Option B: DotSync-Managed Domain If you already own a domain managed by Dotsync, Clearbox will automatically publish all necessary security and delivery records (such as SPF and DKIM) for you.
  • Option C: Existing Third-Party Domain If you wish to keep your domain with your current provider (e.g., GoDaddy or Namecheap, WebEnchanter , e.t.c), you can connect it to Clearbox by following our guided instructions. Clearbox will provide the specific DNS values you need to copy and paste into your provider's settings.

3. Creating Your First Mailbox

Once your domain is connected, you can create your primary email address (e.g., contact@yourbusiness.com). You will be prompted to choose a secure password; we recommend using a unique phrase to ensure the highest level of security for your business data.

4. Accessing Your Communication

You can access your email immediately using the Clearbox Web App through any internet browser at clearbox.alfrolia.com or download the clearbox mobile app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. For a more integrated experience, you may also add your account to professional tools like Microsoft Outlook or your mobile device.


Understanding "DNS" in Plain Language

DNS (Domain Name System) can be thought of as the Global Addressing System for the internet.

Just as a physical post office uses a street address to deliver a letter to the correct building, DNS tells the internet exactly where to deliver your emails. Clearbox simplifies this by providing "One-Click" options for DotSync users or clear, copy-paste values for those managing their own settings.


Troubleshooting & Verification

If your email is not arriving as expected, please consult the following checklist:

  • Verification Status: Ensure your clearbox suite in your dashboard shows a green "Active" status.
  • Propagation Time: When domain settings are changed, it can take a few minutes for the global internet to update. Please allow a short window for these changes to take effect.
  • DotSync Automation: If you are using DotSync, confirm that "Automatic DNS Configuration" is toggled to ON in your settings.

Technical Assistance: If you remain stuck, simply take a screenshot of your dashboard and email it to our support team. Please include your domain name and any error messages you see; our engineers will resolve the issue for you.
