Clearbox mobile app (iOS & Android)

Overview​

The Clearbox mobile app (iOS and Android) lets you send and receive email, manage office documents, set up auto-responders (vacation replies), and change account passwords and settings on the go. It provides push notifications for new mail and supports the same mail servers and security settings described elsewhere in the docs. A full browser-based web application with the same interface and features is also available at https://clearbox.alfrolia.com — use it when you prefer working in a browser instead of the mobile app.

  • Send and receive email with full IMAP sync and push notifications (IMAP IDLE).
  • Manage office documents (Word, Spreadsheets, Presentations) and collaborate in real time.
  • Create and publish public share links for documents and presentations.
  • Set up auto-responders (vacation replies) from your mobile account settings.
  • Change your account password and manage 2FA & app passwords.
  • Manage calendars and contacts (view and accept invites).

Installing the app​

  • iOS: Download from the App Store — search for "Clearbox" (link to be added).
  • Android: Download from Google Play — search for "Clearbox" (link to be added).

Permissions & privacy​

  • The app requests notification permissions to deliver push mail alerts. You can disable notifications in your device settings if you prefer.
  • Background data and battery optimization settings can affect push delivery on Android — ensure Clearbox is allowed to run in the background for reliable sync.

Troubleshooting​

  • No push notifications: check app notification permissions, Background App Refresh (iOS) or battery optimization (Android), and IMAP IDLE settings in the app.
  • Can't send/receive: check account password, app password (if 2FA enabled), and that TLS is enabled. Server host: clearbox.alfrolia.com.

Advanced​

  • Offline editing: documents edited offline sync when network access is restored.
  • Account management: admins can manage device access and revoke app sessions from the Admin → Devices panel.
