Optimizing Your Experience

To ensure the app runs smoothly, your device may request specific permissions. Here is why they matter:

  • Notifications: Enabling this allows the app to send you instant alerts for new emails. Without this, you would need to open the app manually to check for mail.
  • Background Data: On Android and iOS, allowing "Background App Refresh" ensures your inbox stays updated even when the app isn't actively open on your screen.
  • Battery Optimization: Some devices may try to "silence" apps to save battery. For reliable email delivery, we recommend setting Clearbox to "Not Optimized" or "Allow Background Activity" in your phone's battery settings.

Advanced Functionality

  • Offline Productivity: If you lose internet access (such as during a flight), you can continue editing your documents. Clearbox will automatically sync your changes the moment you are back online.
  • Administrative Control: For business owners, the Admin > Devices panel allows you to see which mobile devices are connected to your company’s suites. If a device is lost or stolen, you can revoke its access instantly from the dashboard.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

I am not receiving alerts for new mail

  • Check Permissions: Ensure "Notifications" are turned on in your phone's main Settings menu.
  • Power Settings: Verify that your phone is not in "Low Power Mode" or "Battery Saver Mode," as these often disable instant email updates.

I cannot log in or send mail

  • Password Check: Ensure you are using your primary account password. (Note: Clearbox does not use "App Passwords").
  • Server Verification: If prompted for a server address, ensure it is set to clearbox.alfrolia.com.
